The new home owners extended tax credit has been approved! First time home buyers get up to $8,000 tax credit and repeat home buyers can get up to $6,500 if they have lived in their current home for 5 years or more! The credit is 10% of the purchase price up to $8000!

Single filer making $125K or less
Joint filers making $225K or less

Ownership Restrictions
First time home buyers not owning a home in 3 years - $8,000
Current home owners of 5 years or more - $6,500
Not available for 2nd home purchases (owning two consecutive homes)

Sign a sales contract by 30 April 2010, close by 30 June!
Military members outside the United States for 90 days or more between 1 Jan 2009 and 1 May 2010 have until 30 April 2011!
